Session Description:
This session will aim to cover the diagnostic and therapeutic implications of using information gained through genetic testing in CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease).
An overview and update on the advances made in the diagnostic use of genetic testing will be provided. There will be an exploration of the understanding of pharmacogenomics in the setting of kidney disease. Using genetic testing in a well-known example of CKD, Autosomal Dominant PKD, will allow for discussion of both the opportunities and challenges that result in a personalized approach to the care of the patient with that condition.

Learning Objectives:
An increased understanding of genetic testing for diagnostic purposes in CKD. An increased awareness of possible therapeutic strategies using pharmacogenomics in CKD. An exploration of using a personalized approach medicine in the context of ADPKD.
