Glomerular diseases affect the filtration units of the kidney and are a common cause of renal disease and end stage renal disease. The underlying etiologies range from genetic-, to metabolic-, to toxic-, to infectious- or to immune-mediated mechanisms. The diagnosis usually involves urinary findings and histological analysis and the treatment includes causal and supportive strategies.
Learning Objectives:
Better understanding the pathophysiology of glomerular diseases. Appreciating novel diagnostic strategies. Deepened knowledge about conventional and novel therapeutic interventions.
