Studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh Medical School. Trained in the hospitals in Edinburgh and Sheffield until he obtained his MRCP(UK) qualifications. Further trained in internal medicine and in nephrology in Coventry and Birmigham. Worked as consultant physician and nephrologist in University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire for 10 years before moving to his native country - Mauritius. He is a founder member and outgoing president of the Renal Association of Mauritius. Became Consultant-in-Charge of the newly created Nephrology Unit in Mauritius public hospitals in 2021.
