Paul is president of UK Kidney Association. He is a consultant nephrologist at University Hospitals Birmingham and professor of nephrology at University of Birmingham. Paul was a member of the leadership team that led the merger of the Renal Association and British Renal Society to establish the UK Kidney Association which is representative of all groups involved in the care of patients with kidney disease in the UK. UKKA is responsible for the UK Renal Registry, UK Kidney Week and the Kidney Quality Improvement Partnership (KQuIP). UKKA also has a number of impactful committees including clinical guidelines, patient safety and sustainable kidney care. It has a range of special interest groups that provide national leadership in the major areas of kidney disease. UKKA is a true multi-professional society.Paul has expertise and experience that encompasses a number of areas from basic science research through to system leadership and improvement and implementation.
