Dr. Eiam-Ong has graduated medical degree from Chulalongkorn University Hospital, Bangkok Thailand since 1981. After achieving residency training of Internal Medicine and fellow training of Nephrology in 1986 and 1988, respectively, he has been appointed as a Faculty staff, Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. He has received a position of Professor since 1995. He has been elected to be a member of “International Society of Nephrology (ISN)” council during 2011-2017. He has been appointed to be a member of “Declaration of Istanbul Custodian Group (DICG)” council during 2016-2020. He has been elected to be the president of the “Nephrology Society of Thailand” during 2014-2016, the chairman of “Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University” during 2014-2017, and the president of “The Royal College of Physicians of Thailand” during 2018-2020. He has been offered to be the president of “The ASEAN Federation of Internal Medicine (AFIM) since 2019. Lately. He has been elected to be a member of the administrative commiitte of “The Medical Council of Thailand” since 2021.His research fields include renal acidification, chronic kidney disease, and kidney replacement therapy. He has published more than 300 original articles in international journals and more than 15 chapters in international textbooks. He was a guest editor of Seminar in Nephrology : “Tropical Nephrology” in 2003. He has been appointed to be a member of the “Editorial Board of Kidney International” since 2017. Currently, he is the co-editor in chief of the journal “Asian Biomedicine”.Since 1994, he has published more than 20 sets of standard Thai textbooks of kidney related disorders, including general nephrology, kidney replacement therapies, reninangiotensin-aldosterone system, systemic lupus erythematosus, etc. These Thai textbooks have been utilized in Thailand and neighbor hood countries, such as the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, as the standard kidney textbooks for all levels of medical personnels, including medical students, internal medicine residents, kidney fellows, general physicians, nurses, nutritionists, dietitians, etc.At present, he is still working as a senior nephrologist at Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Chulalongkorn Hospital.
