Dr Teo Boon Wee Jimmy is an Associate Professor in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore; and practices at the National University Hospital, Singapore. He graduated from the National University of Ireland (Cork), and completed internal medicine residency at Case Western Reserve University and nephrology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He is the immediate past Head of Division, and currently the site Principal Investigator in several multi-center clinical trials in glomerular diseases and chronic kidney disease. He is the President of the Singapore Hypertension Society and Secretary-General of the Asian-Pacific Society of Hypertension. He is the Chair of the International Relations Committee of the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism. His research advocated the use of multiple biomarkers and ethnicity-free GFR estimation equations for clinical practice and research.
