Sinee Disthabanchong Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol UniversityThailand

Professor Sinee Disthabanchong is a Deputy Chairman of the Department of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. She received her medical and research training in the USA. After returning to Thailand, she pioneered the research both in basic and clinical science in the field of CKD-MBD. Her earlier work focused on the effect of metabolic acidosis on osteoblast differentiation from mesenchymal stem cells. Later, she discovered the role of sodium thiosulfate in slowing the progression of vascular calcification. Recently she reported the association between severe hyperparathyroidism and protein energy wasting. She has been invited to give several lectures internationally. She has served as a chair of the committee of Clinical Practice Guideline for CKD-MBD in Thailand. She is an executive member of the Nephrology Society of Thailand, Editor-in-Chief of Journal of the Nephrology Society of Thailand, a member of CME committee of Asia Pacific Society of Nephrology and an abstract co-chair for WCN 2023.
