Dr Wei Jing Liu, as the chief physician and professor of Dongzhimen Hospital Affiliated to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China, is the principal of Key Laboratory of Chinese Internal Medicine of Ministry of Education and Beijing. He serves as Deputy Secretary General and Deputy Minister of the Nephropathy Branch and the Youth Committee of China Association of Chinese Medicine respectively. He is a young and middle-aged innovative talent of China Association of Chinese Medicine as well as a leading scientific research talent of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Dr Liu, as an Editorial Board Member of Frontiers in Physiology, majors in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease and diabetes with integration of Traditional Chinese and Western medicine. He has presided over more than 20 scientific research projects, published more than 200 academic papers, and obtained 4 invention patents. He has won the second prize of Science and Technology Progress of China Association of Chinese Medicine.
