Chronic kidney disease (CKD)is a growing public health issue worldwide. My study interest is to explore emerging risk factors of CKD. In my previous research, our teams disclosed chronic hepatitis C virus infection is a strong risk factor for CKD and the risk increases when the high viral load is in a dose-dependent manner. We also focus on arsenic exposure, air pollution, baseline glomerular hyperfiltration, dyslipidemia, and uric acid. We are also devoted to developing prediction models of disease progression. My educational background includes an MPH in Public Health from Harvard University, a doctorate in Nephrology from National Taiwan University Hospital, and a Ph.D. degree in Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology in National Taiwan University. Now I am the chairman of the Renal Disease Study Registry Committee, at the Taiwan Society of Nephrology.
