Dr.Chairat Shayakul received his medical degree from Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in 1984. After a residency in internal medicine and fellowship in nephrology, he pursued his career as a post-doc nephrology research fellow at Kyorin University-Tokyo, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and National Institute of Health - USA. He was appointed as a Professor in Internal Medicine since 2005 and currently as the Head of Renal Division at Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. His research interests focus on renal transport physiology, molecular genetics of kidney diseases and rational drug use.
