Dr. Jie Dong graduated from Peking University Health Science Center in 1995. She completed her post-graduate training at Peking University First Hospital in both Internal medicine and nephrology in 2002. She was trained as a visiting scholar in the hypertension and nephrology department, Vanderbilt University. She is currently depute director of Renal Division in Peking University First Hospital, director of Peritoneal Dialysis centre. She was awarded the New Century Excellent Talents by the Education Department, China (2012), John Maher Young Investigator Award by the International Society of Peritoneal Dialysis (ISPD) (2018). Dr. Jie Dong took academic positions including Vice President of Blood Purification Association of Beijing, Council Member of Beijing Physicians Association and Beijing Medical Association, Member of Standards and Guidelines Committee of ISPD, Member of the Editorial Board for Peritoneal Dialysis International. She co-authored several ISPD guidelines for PD including Catheter-Related Infection Recommendations, 2017 Update, and Practice Recommendations for Prescribing High Quality, Goal-Directed Peritoneal Dialysis, 2020. Dr. Jie Dong has research interests in the prevention and treatment for peritonitis and protein-energy wasting. She has more than 180 peer-reviewed publications including Kidney Int, Am J Kidney Dis, Clin J Am Soc Nephrol, Nephrolo Dial Transplant and a letter in NEJM. Dr. Jie Dong constructed the Peritoneal Dialysis Telemedicine Management Platform (PDTAP) for remote monitoring of PD patients since 2016. Under her leadership, more than 80 peritoneal dialysis centers in China has applied the PDTAP in clinical practice to implement standardized, patient-centered care among over 15, 000 PD patients.
