Richard Kitching is a practicing nephrologist and physician-scientist from Melbourne, Australia. His research focusses on immune kidney disease, from basic mechanisms of loss of tolerance to the mechanisms of leukocyte mediated effector responses, with a view to using more targeted therapies for these diseases.His publications include papers in Nature, Nature Medicine, Nature Reviews Disease Primers, Nature Reviews Immunology, Nature Reviews Nephrology, Kidney International, JASN, PNAS, Nature Communications and The Journal of Experimental Medicine.He holds Monash University and Monash Heath appointments, and is the Chair of the ANZ Vasculitis Society. He is an Associate Editor for JASN and serves on the Editorial Boards of Kidney International and CJASN.His research is funded by an NHMRC Australia Investigator Grant.
