Chagriya Kitiyakara is currently Chief, Division of Nephrology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, where he is currently also the Assistant Dean for Research. He received his medical training at Guy’s Hospital and his Internal Medicine Residency training at King’s College Hospital, University of London, UK. Subsequently, he completed his Clinical and Research Fellowship in Nephrology at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., followed by a post-doctoral Fellowship at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA. Dr Kitiyakara is also the Director of the Medical Innovations Development (MIND) Center, responsible for promoting medical innovations development through interactions with bioengineers and the commercial sector. Dr Kitiyakara’s research interests include the epidemiology of chronic kidney disease, the utility of eGFR estimating equations in the Thai population, and the role of genomics, metabolomics, and other biomarkers in glomerular diseases and CKD.
