Mai Ots-Rosenberg
Since 1988 up today she is employed in Tartu University starting as clinical associate, followed as an associate professor and currently since 2012 full professor of nephrology. She performed during 1995-1997 the ISN fellowship in the Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard University, tutor Barry M. Brenner. In 1998, she defended her PhD (Tartu University, Estonia). In parallel, she continued clinical nephrology practice, and currently since 2016, she works as a Head of Nephrology Division at the Tartu University Hospital. Her expertise includes glomerular disease management, kidney biopsy work-up, treatment of hypertension in CKD, hemo- and peritoneal dialysis-related complications and kidney transplant recipients‘ long-term management. Current main fields of research are continously connected with the studies investigating factors (body composition, vascular calcification, nutrition, physical activity) that influence the progression of CKD.
