Tushar J. Vachharajani, MD, FASN is Professor at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the Director of Global Nephrology at Department of Kidney Medicine, Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute, Cleveland Clinic. A graduate of Grant Medical College, Mumbai, India, Dr. Vachharajani completed his nephrology fellowships at Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences, India, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, UK and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport, Louisiana. He further completed additional fellowships in Interventional Nephrology and Molecular and Cell Physiology at LSUHSC-S. His leadership roles with ISN have focused around education, promoting dialysis access care and training procedural skills around the world. He has served as Chair of the Interventional Nephrology (IN) Committee, inaugural Editor of ISN Academy, Councilor for NA Region, and Chair for the IN hands-on workshops at World Congress of Nephrology. His 12-year contributions to the Education Workgroup have included serving as a member, Deputy Chair and as a Chair. Besides ISN, he has helped organize symposiums and hands-on workshops with ASN, NKF, ASDIN, AVATAR, ISHD, KRA, AFRAN. His other contributions include serving on committees of Fistula First Initiative, NKF 2019 Vascular Access Guidelines and SONG. He serves on the editorial boards of Kidney International Report, Seminars in Dialysis, Kidney360, Journal of Vascular Access and Indian Journal of Nephrology. He is a recipient of the ISN 2021 Roscoe Robinson Award; 2016 Gerald Beathard award from American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology for excellence in teaching and scholarly activity and 2017 AVATAR Hero award for his contributions and service.
