Ali K. Abu-Alfa, MD, FASN, FAHADr Abu-Alfa is a tenured Professor of Medicine, Head of the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension and Director for the Human Research Protection Program at the American University of Beirut. He joined AUB in 2010 after spending 2 decades at the Yale where he remains an Adjunct facutly.He earned his MD from AUB in 1985, completed Internal Medicine residency at Northwestern in 1990 and nephrology fellowship at Yale in 1993. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine-Nephrology and Certified Hypertension Specialist by AHSCP.He is the founding President of the Middle East Chapter - International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis. He is the Chair of the ISN-Middle East Regional Board and is currently a member of ISN CME Committee and Chair-elect of its Renal Disaster Preparedness Workgroup. He served on KDIGO Executive committee and is the immediate past President of the Lebanese Society of Nephrology and Hypertension.
