Professor Manisha Sahay graduated in 1994, did her post-graduation and her fellowship in Nephrology at the Osmania Medical College with a brilliant academic record being awarded 13 gold medals. She was awarded Gold Medal for her outstanding performance in Diplomate of National Board of Examinations in Nephrology in 2003. She is presently working as Professor and Head in the Department of Nephrology at Osmania General Hospital and Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad. She has 160 papers in National and International journals, has contributed to several book chapters and has delivered more than 500 lectures at International, National and State level. She served as Council member of International society of nephrology from 2017-2021 and Chair of South Asia Regional board (2019-2021). She is Editor-in-chief of Indian journal of transplantation and has served on Executive committee of Indian society of Organ Transplantation, Indian society of nephrology (national and zonal level), Asia Pacific society CME-committee, Young nephrologist committee, Sister renal centre committee and South Asia regional board. She has been elected as Deputy Chair, CME committee of International society of Nephrology 2022 and is also member of KDIGO Anaemia working group. She has done many programmes for public awareness about renal diseases with special focus on preventing kidney diseases in women and children. She has a passion for teaching and is actively involved in training of Nephrology fellows and other medical students. She is an avid researcher and is involved in many extramural and intramural research activities.
