Peace Bagasha, MBChB, MMED, is a Clinical Lecturer in the Makerere University College of Health Sciences Palliative Care Unit. She has a clinical fellowship in Kidney disease from McMaster University in Canada. Peace is also an avid educator and has participated in curriculum development in Rwanda and mentors and supervises multiple postgraduate and undergraduate students. She has carried out research in kidney disease and palliative care and is currently pursuing a PH.D in collaboration with the University of Cambridge looking at the quality of life of patients with end stage kidney disease. Kidney disease is the 13th leading cause of death in Uganda. Most patients are diagnosed late with very costly treatment options which increase poverty levels for entire communities.
