Session Description:
This session will aim to cover fundamental aspects related to the understanding of the complications of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and their management. Epidemiological data describing the cardiovascular repercussions of CKD and their burden will be presented, along with specific recommendations related to their prevention and management.. Moreover, the most up-to-date advances in the field of the management of the anemia related to CKD will be showcased. There will also be an exploration of the understanding that we currently have regarding the complex pathophysiology of bone mineral disease related to CKD (CKD-BMD) and the latest advances in management. Finally, the latest evidence regarding the nutritional strategies to delay CKD progression will be explored in detail.
