Mark Ibberson DrSwitzerland

Mark Ibberson is Director of the Vital-IT competence center of the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics in Lausanne. He obtained a Ph.D. in medical genetics from the University in London and did a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Lausanne in the field of diabetes research, before moving into the field of computational biology. In recent years he has been involved in several European projects mainly in the field of diabetes and metabolic disease, where his group has worked on providing expertise in multi-omics data integration and analysis for biomarker discovery. His group has also been responsible for setting up federated analysis systems in several projects, where clinical and molecular data from multiple clinical cohorts are connected together in a network and can be analysed remotely without sensitive data disclosure.
