Dr. Girish N. Nadkarni is the Fishberg Professor in Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is also the Chief of the Division of Data Driven and Digital Medicine (D3M) and the Director of the Charles Bronfman Institute of Personalized Medicine. He received training in Mathematics before completing his medical degree at one of the top-ranked medical colleges in India. He then received a Master’s in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD, and then was a Research Associate at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute. Dr. Nadkarni completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a clinical fellowship in Nephrology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He then completed a research fellowship in Personalized Medicine at the Charles Bronfman Institute of Personalized Medicine. Dr. Nadkarni has authored over 300 peer-reviewed scientific publications including ones in the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of American Medical Association, Annals of Internal Medicine, The Lancet and Nature Medicine. He has received many awards including the best outgoing senior resident award, Dr. Harold and Golden Lamport research award, the ANIO rising star award and the Deal of the Year award at Sinai Innovations. He is the principal investigator for several NIH funded grants. Dr. Nadkarni is also the scientific co-founder of several investor-backed companies, two of which are publicly traded.
