Eiichiro Kanda has been a professor of Medical Science, Kawasaki Medical School, Okayama, Japan, since 2018. After receiving Master of Public Health from Emory University in 2010, and Ph. D. from Tokyo Medical and Dental University in 2003, he has been teaching nephrology and data science as an expert of epidemiology and biostatistics. His research interests are very wide, not only nephrology-related topics e.g., chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and nutrition, but also data science e.g., artificial intelligence, information geometry, and category theory. He received the Excellent Abstract Award 2022 from the Japanese Society of Nephrology was given for his research on the Riemannian manifold model of chronic kidney disease.
