Professor David Johnson PSM is currently Director of the Metro South Integrated Nephrology and Transplant Service (MINTS) and Medical Director of the Queensland Kidney Transplant Service at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Australia. He is Immediate Past President of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis (ISPD), President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN), a past International Society of Nephrology (ISN) councillor, Co-chair of the ISN Global Kidney Health Atlas (ISN-GKHA), Deputy Chair of the Australasian Kidney Trials Network (AKTN), Chair of SONG-PD, Deputy Chair of the Better Evidence and Translation in Chronic Kidney Disease (BEAT-CKD) program and Co-chair of the ISPD PDOPPS Steering Committee. He has published over 1000 original manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, presented over 550 abstracts at national and international scientific meetings, led numerous large multi-centre randomised trials (including IDEAL, CKD-FIX, HONEYPOT, HERO, TEACH-PD, balANZ and PHOSPHATE), and received numerous national and international awards for his contributions to improving the health and well-being of people living with kidney disease.
