Dr. Ong is a senior consultant nephrologist and the head of Department of Medicine at Penang Hospital, Malaysia. He is also the current Head of Nephrology Services at the Ministry of Health Malaysia. He graduated in 1987 from University Malaya and obtained his membership from the Royal College of Physicians United Kingdom in 1993 and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh in 2006. He is a certified nephrologist since 1996 and has been actively involved in training and research.
