Surasak Kantachuvesiri
Associate Professor Surasak Kantachuvesiri M.D, Ph.D. Renal Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand. He completed his MD and Fellowship in nephrology from the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University Thailand. He also received a Ph.D. in molecular genetics from the University of Edinburgh. He received postdoc training from the section of Nephrology at Yale University, USA. His areas of interest include salt and hypertension-induced organ damage and high-risk kidney transplantation. He is currently the President of the Nephrology Society of Thailand and the Thai low salt network. In addition, he is the Director of the Kidney Transplantation Program, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol university. His role in policy development for CKD prevention in Thailand has been prominent, he spearheaded the low salt campaign and was instrumental in setting up a national strategy on sodium reduction in Thailand endorsed by the Ministry of Public Health.
